A Wonderfull Fall Fiber Show is coming soon . . .

The Contemporary Quilt and Fiber Artists will hold our annual show at the Cincinnati Nature Center in October.  I was very excited to learn this week that one of my quilts will be featured on the Publicity Poster.
Here is the poster with the information for the show and a photo of my quilt used in the publication.
My Quilt is based on a concept called Stupendious Stitches using machine stitching and hand embroidery.
The design includes felted Mandalas and numerous buttons.

A Very Good Year

2015 has been a very creative year so far, and it is about time I return to the blog I promised to maintain seven months ago!
Here is one of many of
the highlights of my work so far:

On July 24th, 2015 I was one of 16 artists invited to participate in an event in Northern Kentucky at the Ft. Thomas Library
called Art After Hours
Here is my booth space

and a photo with fellow Fiber Artist
and Friend Betsy Terrill
in front of our quilts at Art After Hours.
We were all "dolled up" for the evening!

The Civic Garden Center Block Challenge
Each year the Civic Garden Center of Cincinnati
puts on a Quilter's Tea with a speaker, wonderful food and delicious teas.
As a part of the day they present a quilt block challenge in the months leading up to the tea.
The blocks are judged and hung at the tea.
Over the following year they are made into quilts to be auctioned as a fund raiser.
This years theme is
"Enchanted Botanicals"

my entry began by using the required fabric
and cutting the shapes to match my sketch of enchanted lady slippers

the flowers were placed on the required background fabric
to create a 12 1/2"x 12 1/2" block

Here is the finished block and details

Welcome 2015
and Happy New Year to All
My Resolution for 2015
concerning this blog
is to try to be a "little more" involved in posting to my blog.
Actually, I do not do resolutions.
What I have been doing for the past 10 years
is to write a list of aspirations.
Things I aspire to accomplish during the year.
So to be more clear,
on my list I have included
"I aspire to post more often in 2015
than I posted in 2014"
Hope you will be following
and Enjoy!
See ya soon - Robbie
