The Courageous Companions

I know I've posted about these "dolls" before,
but you can never be too grateful for great friends.
After lunch at Magganio's  on Sunday
 I asked the girls
If I could publish our photo as well -
so here we are

Linda, Robbie and Kelli
The Courageous Companions

The dolls were created in 2007 to celebrate
Supportive friends.

A Visit to the Black Sheep Farm

Meet a friend, Kathy Cunningham, artist and owner of
The Black Sheep Farm in Brown County, Ohio.   Pictured here at her felting machine.
Find more photos of the farm
and some wonderful fiber art materials at www.theblacksheepfiberfarm.com

While visiting the farm today I took this photo of Prince Romeo.
His wool and the wool of many of his friends on the farm
Become the tresses that I use for the hair on my art dolls.

Wool from the farm makes wonderful doll hair!

Inspiration/Family Adventures

Now here is inspiration for doll making.
My lovely granddaughters going wild in a candy store!
I have a vision of the doll sitting on a mound of candy boxes and wrappers.

Maine Wild Lupine Quilt in Process

An original art quilt
Working from the photos taken while attending the Maine Lupine Festival in 2011
The background was first pieced in shades of green

Stencil designs were created with freezer paper and Shiva Paintsticks were used to color the dried sticks in the background.    The remainder of the detail is created with cut and fused fabric
