MAKING A QUILTED VALENTINE

The Valentine Heart
And Card

EVERYBODY NEEDS A VALENTINE

I have loved creating Valentines since I was in Elementary School.
Covering a Special Box and heading out to school to pass out
Valentines is one of my favorite memories!

These sweet little Quilted Hearts were created by quilting two half yard pieces of Variegated Batik Fabric with decorative machine stitches.  One piece of fabric was shades of pink and one was in red tones.
I created a clear plastic heart shaped template and carefully selected areas of the design to trace and cut out.
The two yards produced 24 hearts.
I cut a second larger heart template and made 24 hearts out of stiff felt.
Then each quilted heart was sew onto stiff felt and embellished with buttons and sequined.
On my computer I created a message, printed it out, cut around the little messages and glued them to the back of the heart.
Since I wanted to also mail cards,  I photographed a pile of the hearts and made 4x6" prints, glued onto pink card stock as cards.

YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO MAKE YOUR OWN!
